How to run Deriv bots on your phone, with nothing to install
/4 min read
Most people looking for a Deriv bot on mobile start by searching for an app to install. There is a simpler route: BinaryTick runs in the browser, so the phone you are reading this on can be running a strategy in about two minutes, with nothing downloaded and nothing to update.
Why there is no app
An app would add a download, an install, a permission prompt, a store review queue between a fix and your phone, and an update to chase every time something changes.
A browser platform skips all of it. You open a page, sign in with the Deriv account you already have, and everything is there: the strategy cards, the block editor, the run panel, and the full manual trade screen. Add the page to your home screen and it opens like an app anyway, without being one.
It also means the thing you use on your phone is the same thing you use on a laptop. Same account, same strategies, same settings, no feature that exists on one and not the other.
Getting a strategy running
- Open BinaryTick in your phone's browser.
- Sign in with Deriv. The password goes in on Deriv's own page.
- Check the account selector is on the demo balance if you are trying something new.
- Pick a strategy card and read its rule. Every card states how it trades in one sentence.
- Set the stake, the stop loss and the take profit on the card itself.
- Press Run.
The run panel shows what the bot is doing, trade by trade, with a journal of why each decision was made.
The one thing to know about mobile sessions
Bots run in your browser, not on a server. That is what keeps your strategies private, and it has a practical consequence on a phone worth knowing up front: if the tab closes, the screen locks for a long stretch, or the connection drops, the bot stops placing new trades. Contracts already open run to their own expiry as normal.
This is easy to work with once you know it. Two habits cover it:
Set a take profit on every session. If the bot reaches your target and stops itself, it does not matter what the phone does afterwards. A session with a defined end is a session that survives a locked screen.
Run shorter sessions on mobile. A phone is well suited to a deliberate half hour with the screen on and the run panel visible, which is arguably how a session should be watched anyway. Long unattended runs are better started on a machine that stays awake.
Neither is a limitation so much as a shape. The strategies that suit mobile are the ones that trade often and finish quickly, which is most of the digit family.
Which strategies suit a phone
Under 8 and Over 1 trade constantly, so a short session still gives you plenty to watch. Over 1 runs on a one second market, so it fills the run panel roughly twice as fast.
Digit Differs wins about nine times in ten, which makes for a readable session on a small screen.
Rise / Fall Momentum is the one to use if you want fewer, more selective trades while you are doing something else.
The full list of what each strategy does is worth a read before you pick.
Trading manually on a phone
The full trade screen is on mobile too. Every contract type is there, priced live on every tick: Rise/Fall, Accumulators, Multipliers, Turbos, Vanillas, Higher/Lower, Touch/No Touch and the digit contracts, on the same account your bots use.
Accumulators and Multipliers suit a phone particularly well, because both are positions you open and then manage rather than a rapid sequence of tick contracts. Set the take profit as you place the trade and the position looks after itself.
The synthetics never close
This is the part that makes mobile genuinely useful rather than a compromise. The synthetic indices run 24 hours a day, weekends included. Volatility 10 through 100, Crash and Boom, Step, Jump and Range Break are all live at any hour, so the twenty minutes you actually have is always a tradeable twenty minutes.
